Chamonix Resort Info

Apres Ski in Chamonix

The town is always lively with virtually round the clock apres-ski and plenty going on throughout the night. Bard’ Up is probably one of the most popular bars in Chamonix and Chambre Neuf is one of the most renowned places for skiers and boarders to meet. Dicks T-Bar is situated in the oldest building in Chamonix, on the infamous Rue des Moulins and open 7 days a week in the winter from 10 until 4 in the morning. The Cybar is Chamonix's largest internet café.

Argentière is more relaxed and informal but does have a good range of bars and restaurants.

Chamonix has over 100 superb restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets from French cuisine to international dishes. Argentière also offers a number of reasonably priced restaurants.

Typical dishes include the local Savoyard specialities, fondues and pizzas. A typical 3-course meal will cost upwards from around 23 Euros. Recommendations include the restaurants L’Impossible, Bumble Bee Bistro, Atmosphère and Neapolis.

Chamonix also has a good range of shops, a sports centre with pool and waterslide, a casino and a couple of cinemas, so is also a good resort for those not skiing. Other activities include tennis and squash, a fitness centre with sunbeds, an indoor climbing wall, ice skating rink, sauna and Turkish baths.

The range of other outdoor activities available is endless - heli-skiing, paragliding, sleigh rides, ice waterfalls, snowshoeing, walking trails, cross-country skiing and much more.

From a party night to a quiet apres ski drink or a quality meal, we've selected our favourite places to go (below) and have divided them into two sections: bars and restaurants. Enjoy!
