Prices Include: UK Flights | Transfers | Accommodation Chalet Arkle is a traditional Savoy Chalet that caters for up to fourteen guests. Since buying Chalet Arkle late in 2006, it's current owners have invested €100,000 updating the chalet with the first phase now complete.
The ground floor comprises of the dining and lounge areas that feature predominantly brown leather sofas and dark woods with subtle lighting reminiscent of a chic boutique hotel. A warm welcome, great food, free flowing wine with your meal, warmed ski boots and the hot tub add to the Chalet Arkle experience.
Seven guest bedrooms are located across the first and second floors and most can be presented as either a twin or double. Four of the bedrooms offer en-suite facilities while the others share two further bath / shower rooms. Most of the bedrooms feature large ‘Super King’ beds or the equivalent twin which guests tell us they appreciate, even if they reduce the open floor area. Travel cots are also available for babies.
The location is hard to beat, with the piste just 150m, that’s practically ski to the door by Chamonix standards. Chamonix town centre is just a three minute walk. Three days per week the staff also provide a private shuttle service to the other ski areas in the Chamonix valley.
Great views surround Chalet Arkle, with Mont Blanc, the Aiguille du midi, Les Dru to the east and the Aiguille Rouge to the west. Watching the moon set over the ridge of the Aiguille Rouge from the hot tub is truly spectacular.
For the 2007/8 the owners hope to have upgraded all the bedrooms to en-suite offering a truly 5-star experience. This season allows guests to enjoy the chic Chalet Arkle experience and its great location at an exceptional price. |

With Chamonix being a real all year around mountain town, it has a greater depth of restaurants than many purpose built ski areas that remain closed for most of the year. By serving dinner at five nights per week, you enjoy the relaxed character of chalet dining but also two nights to explore the many Chamonix restaurants. Your chalet hosts will be pleased to help you with your choice.
Afternoon cakes after skiing are important and they help to fend off the hunger pangs till dinner! Pistachio, Praline and Vanilla Cake is one of the staffs favorites and certain to feature most weeks.
Breakfast is served six days per week and will set you up until lunch time. On your chalet host’s well deserved days off, all the ingredients for a continental breakfast will be left out for you. |
