The skiing in Chamonix is made up of five different areas, each with its own distinct character. These include the linked La Flegere and Le Brevent (on the northern side of the valley), Les Grand Montets (above Argentiere), Le Tour (above the hamlet of Montroc) and Les Houches (3 miles to the west of Chamonix). Les Grand Montets is the largest pisted skiing area in the Chamonix valley.
